About us
Gaymes Book Centre has supplied students across St. Vincent and the Grenadines for more than two decades - every textbook on the school list, and the stories people read for the love of it.
Paule's Avenue, Kingstown
Our story
The centre is run by its proprietor, Dennis Gaymes. From a child's first reader to the CSEC text that earns the pass, we stock every level - Pre-K, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary - alongside reference titles, faith and inspiration, stationery, and a shelf of novels and Caribbean reads.
We serve families and schools right across St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Bring your school list in, or build it online and send it ahead on WhatsApp, and we'll have it ready when you arrive.

"A library can make a difference in a nation."- Dennis Gaymes

More than a bookstore
Mr. Gaymes is one of the country's steadiest voices for reading. With the National Public Library and Macmillan, he helped run a "library on the move" caravan - carrying books to communities on both sides of the island to bring rural libraries back to life.
He has also helped stage Family Literacy Month, and argues that libraries should do more than serve exams: school and community libraries working together, open after the school bell, for anyone who wants to learn - whether that is farming, fishing, or the next good novel.
The caravan reached communities including Calliaqua, Colonarie and Georgetown on the windward side, and Questelles, Rose Hall and Chateaubelair to leeward.
